Preparing for Surgery

In general, dogs can have water all night.

Just remove their access to food by 10–11 pm the night before surgery.

Post-Operation

Different levels of rest will be recommended based on the type of surgery your dog will be having.

Those having major orthopedic surgery will need to be crate rested for a majority of their recovery time.  This will mean staying in a crate unless they are being directly supervised and are not trying to play, run or jump.

Specific instructions will be written for all patients to go home with.
